Our vision for this position is to improve the quality of products by working with Manufacturing to reduce process issues, improve production efficiency and improve bottom line results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and the customer to assure products meet customer needs.
- Conduct IATF 16949 internal audits.
- Work directly with the Engineering Team to approve or revise tools and processes.
- Up‑front review of tooling, processes, and controls to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
- Consider design from manufacturing, process controls, and cost in the decision‑making process.
- Ensure shop floor has capability and resources to produce product to specifications.
- Visibly support formal efforts aimed at continuous improvement of all factory operations.
- Work as a member of the Project Management Team providing support and direction on, but not limited to:
- Control Plans
- FMEA
- Process Flow
- Packaging
- Run at Rate
- Gage Design and Fabrication
- Customer Liaison
- PPAP
- Implementation of formal Quality Assurance System designed to guarantee customer satisfaction and create a skilled workforce. Training and education of floor personnel play a key role.
- Work with Engineering Team to establish effective Tool Try‑Out and Variability Study procedures.
- Coordinate try‑out needs with CMM availability, technicians, and shop schedules.
- Build part‑specific data to support process controls and customer needs.
- Establish testing measures and histories to avoid repeat problems in manufacturing.
- Develop formal tracking and response system to follow up on internal and external quality issues, placing priority on customer service and response.
- Provide visible support for daily floor operations and SOS. Play a leadership role in promoting an atmosphere of continuous improvement with both quality technicians and production technicians.
- Work closely with customers on customer part issues.
- Travel to customers, if necessary, to handle any customer concerns.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four‑year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- IATF auditor highly preferred.
- Process improvement.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
