Outside Sales Account Manager – Industrial Component Service and Repair
Location
:
Any Indiana office – Hybrid 1 day a week.
- Process applications, policies, endorsements, binders, certificates, audit requests, agency billing, and other items related to servicing clients from Midwest, Northeast, and West regions.
- Assist clients with policy coverages and related questions; review policy coverages for potential gaps and additional needs.
- Collaborate with Producers to address client service needs and renew/retain assigned accounts.
- Conduct the renewal process, providing best options for clients and suggesting additional coverage.
- Maintain client files in appropriate systems and provide standard office/administrative support.
- Manage carrier relationships and stay updated on contracted carrier changes and industry trends.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of all applications, policies, endorsements, and related items.
- Inform, educate, and assist clients with policy coverage changes and needs.
- Meet quality and timeliness standards within the Agency Management System while properly documenting all activity.
- Negotiate premiums and commissions with underwriters and wholesalers, presenting quote options to clients or Producers.
- Bind and issue policies via carrier websites or by ordering from underwriters.
- Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of all responsibilities.
- Maintain cordial and effective relationships with clients, co‑workers, carriers, wholesalers, vendors, and other business contacts.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new products, coverages, legislation, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
- Resolve problems or enhance service in a timely manner within a fast‑paced environment.
- Maintain expert knowledge of insurance coverage and agency operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Full knowledge of Property & Casualty lines of coverage and services.
- Analytical skills to recognize problems and respond appropriately.
- Experience with Agency Management Systems, rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations to manage, maintain, and write assigned clients.
- Advanced knowledge of Internet navigation and Microsoft Office programs (Windows, Outlook, Word & Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and time management abilities.
- Excellent multi‑tasking and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work effectively both with and without direct supervision.
- Experience working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in a mid‑size brokerage or carrier.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations).
- Experience in a fast‑paced environment juggling multiple competing tasks.
- High interpersonal skills for handling sensitive and confidential situations.
- Indiana Property & Casualty license.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel to clients; some air travel may be required.
The base pay offered will be determined based on experience, skills, training, certifications, and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
