Job Description
Under minimal supervision, perform mid to expert level diagnoses, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and reconditioning of machinery, mechanical, or electrical equipment, following diagrams, manuals, and manufacturer specifications, in compliance with company policies. Responsibilities include maintaining the facility, including building, grounds, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and more.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety standards including Lock Out, Electrical Arc Flash, Fall Protection, etc.
- Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) safely.
- Provide leadership and assistance to other technicians.
- Support mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks.
- Manage job assignments, preventive maintenance schedules, TPM events, and work orders.
- Troubleshoot and install electrical DC and AC controls, power distribution, PLCs, Ethernet I/O, and electrical safety controls.
- Work from complex drawings, blueprints, and related documents.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and perform hot work tasks.
- Order supplies and repair items as needed.
- Build and troubleshoot electrical panels to NFPA/NEC standards.
- Maintain grounds and building exterior, perform mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.
- Set up and operate tools like lathes, drill presses, grinders for parts making and repairs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Shift: Second Shift (Monday-Friday, 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm, overtime as needed)
Pay: Shift differential of $2.00/hr plus base pay based on experience
Qualifications:
- Ability to use trade math, drawings, and precision measuring instruments
- Proficiency with office PC skills (Excel) and CMMS software
- Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, solid state, and PLC systems
- Experience with PLC control software and electrical controls
- Understanding of spare parts inventory process
- Experience with AC, DC, VFD, Flux, Vector, Servo, and Stepper motors and drives
- Ability to work independently
Education:
- High School or GED required
- Associates Degree in Industrial Controls, Maintenance, or related preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years in industrial maintenance/controls required
