Position Overview:The Transportation Aide is responsible for the safe transportation of residents to and from the facility during approved activities to pre-determined destinations.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate the facility’s vehicle in a safe manner when transporting residents.
- Assist the residents when on-boarding and off-boarding the vehicle.
- Ensures the residents’ safe arrival to the pre-determined destination and the facility.
- Maintains route and mileage logs.
- Monitors routine vehicle safety conditions including fuel and vital fluid levels.
- Reports any vehicle problems, or maintenance needs to the Executive Director immediately.
- Ensures that all vehicle passengers follow safety procedures, including fastening seat belts, prior to moving the van.
- Interacts in a positive manner with the residents and visitors as a representative of the facility.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Excellent driving record.
- Must be CPR Certified, certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing.
- Certified Nursing Assistant certificate current and in good standing; CNA certificate preferred but not required.
