Academic Trainer - Engineering
Job Description- Delivering training to groups of up to 24 trainees in:
Electrical engineering and machine principles (NVQ Level 4/5) and Basic electronics and mathematics (Level 2/3) - Demonstrating practical electrical and machine concepts during lab sessions
- Supervising trainee-led laboratory work aligned with module content
- Administering and invigilating both paper-based and online examinations
- Marking and check‑marking assessments to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Maintaining and updating training materials with Training Design staff
- Must have at least a Foundation Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related engineering discipline), or an HND/FdSc in Electrical Engineering or proven teaching/practical experience in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in the theory and practical use of Electrical Machines (DC Motors/Generators, AC Motors/Generators) and Three Phase AC systems
- Classroom experience in teaching technical subjects in an adult education environment, ideally with at least a Level 4 teaching qualification
- Experience of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (or equivalent)
