Are you ready to take your engineering career to the next level? Our client is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and skilled Obsolescence Engineer to support their exciting portfolio of emerging and current programme requirements in the Defence industry.

Location:

Yeovil, UK (with options for Bristol or Gosport)

About the Role

As an Obsolescence Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Obsolescence Capability Lead and reporting to the Product Support Manager. Your mission? To ensure that our systems remain operational and effective while navigating the complexities of obsolescence management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the provision of Obsolescence Management Services, adapting processes and plans to meet changing requirements.
  • Prepare materials for briefings, meetings, and formal working groups.
  • Identify obsolescence issues and opportunities early, assisting in the development of mitigation plans.
  • Attend internal, supplier, and customer meetings as required.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with wider organisational developments.
  • Coordinate Support Engineering deliverables, focusing on First Time Quality.
  • Collaborate with Boeing International obsolescence personnel to enhance our offerings.
What We're Looking For
  • Must be eligible for UK SC security clearance.
  • Solid understanding of Support Engineering, particularly in military environments.
  • Experience in Obsolescence Management and Engineering data analysis.
  • Strong communication and liaison skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with international support standards such as Def Stan 00-600 is a plus.
  • Ideally, a degree in a relevant Engineering subject (not essential).
