Quantity Surveyor - Engineering

Ceto Talent is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor - Engineering to support a busy commercial and procurement environment across multiple small contracts and one larger project.

This role offers the opportunity to ensure fair and accurate commercial management of predominantly engineering works.

What We're Looking For

The ideal Quantity Surveyor - Engineering will bring:

* NEC 3 or NEC 4 contract experience and pre-tender experience (Essential)

* Proven experience working as an Assistant QS or Chartered QS

* Mechanical background (Preferred)

* Active government clearance (must be live and active from day one)

Key Responsibilities

As Quantity Surveyor - Engineering, you will support delivery across multiple small contracts whilst contributing to commercial management of a larger project. You'll assist with pre-tender activities and documentation, work closely with the wider QS team to manage workload and priorities, and provide support to the Procurement Team to ensure engineering works are billed fairly. Your responsibilities include assisting with monitoring and measuring contractor services to verify applications for payment, monitoring contractors to ensure compliance with contract requirements, and assisting with valuation of applications for payment and preparation of payment certificates.

You'll also assist with validation of claims for changes in scope, review and validate contractor estimates, prepare in-house estimates and analyse tender submissions. Working alongside Project Engineers, you'll perform cost analysis, support risk and value management, identify and develop responses to risks, and ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with accounting procedures whilst monitoring project costs to ensure delivery within budget.
