Mechanical Designer
Gosport - £35,000 to £45,000 p/a
4‑Day Working Week Monday to Thursday (37 hours)
Aircraft Lighting Manufacturer
Are you an experienced Mechanical Designer looking to join a specialist manufacturer at the forefront of aircraft lighting technology? My client designs and manufactures high‑performance lighting products for the aviation sector and is looking for a seasoned mechanical designer to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design activities for aircraft lighting products from concept through to production.
Produce detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using AutoCAD Inventor.
Collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and compliance standards.
Support prototype builds, testing processes, and design validation.
Contribute to continuous improvement and new product development initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 10 years' mechanical design and drafting experience.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Inventor is essential.
HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Design or a similar field
Strong practical experience within a mechanical design or manufacturing environment.
Clear, confident communication skills.
Self‑motivated, organised, and able to manage your own workload.
Must be eligible for UK security clearance (5 years living in the UK and a British/Duel British passport or share code.
