Academic Trainer - Engineering

• Deliver training to groups of up to 24 trainees in Electrical engineering and machine principles (NVQ Level 4/5) and Basic electronics and mathematics (Level 2/3).
• Demonstrate practical electrical and machine concepts during lab sessions.
• Supervise trainee‑led laboratory work aligned with module content.
• Administer and invigilate both paper‑based and online examinations.
• Mark and check‑mark assessments to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Maintain and update training materials in collaboration with Training Design staff.

• At least a Foundation Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related engineering discipline), an HND/Fdegree in Electrical Engineering, or proven teaching/practical experience in Electrical Engineering.

• Experience in the theory and practical use of Electrical Machines (DC Motors/Generators, AC Motors/Generators) and Three Phase AC systems.
• Classroom experience teaching technical subjects in an adult education environment, ideally with at least a Level 4 teaching qualification.
• Experience of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (or equivalent).

• Salary up to £43,500 – pro rata £42,738.75 based on term time only.
