Job title: Mechanical Engineering Instructor

Job Description: Full‑time role, 37.5 hours a week (Monday – Friday). You will deliver high‑quality training in Mechanical Craft and Fabrication, supporting trainees in developing core engineering competencies.

• Introducing and developing practical hand skills, including fitting and filing
• Teaching the interpretation and understanding of basic technical drawings
• Providing instruction on the safe use of workshop equipment
• Promoting and embedding strong workshop Health & Safety practices
• Supporting trainees’ progress through coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback

• A strong engineering background (mechanical or fabrication experience preferred) certified to a minimum of Level3 or above
• Practical workshop experience and confidence using hand tools and machinery
• Proficient in the use of IT (hardware/software)
• Willingness to learn and continuously develop as a trainer (full training provided)
• Strong communication skills and a passion for developing others

• Level3 teaching qualification / DCTS Defence Train The Trainer Course or equivalent (successful completion)
• Previous instructional experience in a military or civilian engineering environment (ideally within last5years)

Eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.

Term‑time basis: 45 weeks per year, with non‑working weeks taken 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. Salary is pro‑rated and includes contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.
