Package: £47,860 - £75,640 (depending on suitability and level of experience) plus allowances.

AWE is looking for a Radiation Protection Adviser for the Defence Radiation Protection Services (DRPS) Group which provides UK Defence and Security with ionising and non‑ionising radiation protection advice. The DRPS Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) Body is formally recognised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) under the provisions of the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR
17). The DRPS RPA Body is appointed in this role for most of the Ministry of Defence and other defence and security customers.
- Conduct radiation protection visits and provide advice.
- Provide non‑ionising radiation protection advice.
- Offer medical physics expert advice.
- Support MOD by writing and reviewing radiation protection and safety policy.
- Provide environmental services, including radioactive waste advice.
- Design and deliver radiation protection and operational training.
- Support DNSR.
- Mentor and support development of health physicists.
Required:
- RPA
2000 Certification as an RPA, MPE, or RWA. - Previous experience providing radiation protection advice.
Preferred experience:
- Working in Defence.
- Knowledge of JSP
