The Role

The purpose of the role is to lead and deliver Specialist Construction, Civil Engineering and Estate Management programmes across QinetiQ’s Maritime Estate, to ensure a high level of service delivery resulting in successful outcomes to programme and cost. This will involve leading Programmes for both internal and external stakeholders

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a broad breadth of experience managing projects and programmes across building & civil engineering projects, electrical and mechanical installations, delivering to time constraints and budget. The role will require travel to various sites across the QinetiQ Estate.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Development and maintenance of positive engagement with programme customers, partners and supplier both internal and external
  • Resolving conflicts (including prioritisation calls) within the programme and collaborating across QinetiQ
  • Lead and deliver a defined Programme of major construction projects
  • Define and maintain under review the overall aims, objectives and risks ofthe Programme, together with its specific priorities, and the overall scopeof the Programme; including monthly management reporting
  • Delivery of the Programme outcomes, to agreed baseline (customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash and sales)
  • Leadership; being able to establish the vision and direction for the programme (in line with the ISBP), to influence and align others towards this common purpose, and to empower & inspire people to achieve success
Essential experience of the Programme Manager :
  • Extensive experience in a construction project/programme management environment managing complex projects from inception to completion
  • Extensive experience of the Construction, Design Management (CDM) Regulations and must have acted as client or similar role on a construction related project
  • Excellent experience of construction contracts (NEC) and construction procurement methods
Desirable qualifications for the Programme Manager :
  • A professional construction qualification in the form of degree, accreditation (APM, Prince
    2) or Chartered status

This role is 37 hours per week and is based out of our south coast facilities on a hybrid working pattern of 3 days per week on average, onsite.

Our marine technology offers our global customers a service to deliver constrained hydrodynamic model tests of surface ships, submarines, offshore structures, and renewable energy devices.
