Department Assistant, Grafton Public Library (Grafton)
The Town of Grafton is seeking an individual to fill the position of Department Assistant at the Grafton Public Library. This position is responsible for assisting the Library Director with day‑to‑day operations of the Library and providing clerical support to the Board of Library Trustees at their monthly meetings.
- Directing correspondence to the appropriate person/department or responding when necessary
- Providing support for grants
- Assisting with scheduling and payroll
- Attending monthly trustee meetings
- Preparing and maintaining trustee documents and policies collection
- Recording staff meeting minutes
- High school diploma and 1–3 years of related experience, preferably in a municipal or public‑facing setting
- Knowledge of public library services, practices, and information resources (preferred)
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy
- Proficiency with a variety of computer software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills

Salary NotesThis is a 35‑hour per week Union position with a salary range of $43,771.00 – $48,188.00, depending on qualifications.
