Position Title
The Town of Grafton is accepting applications for the full-time position of Council on Aging Director. This position is responsible for developing, planning, organizing, administering, and evaluating all programs and services to meet the social, emotional, economic, and health needs of Grafton’s elder adult population.
ResponsibilitiesThe COA Director is responsible for overseeing all Council on Aging service operations, including referral and outreach, transportation, and outreach/coordination with other Town Departments that can assist our senior population. The role also includes wellness and educational programs in accordance with the by‑laws of the Town, the policies of the Council on Aging Board, the laws of Massachusetts, and federal regulations.
QualificationsMinimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in gerontology, social work, or a related field, and 3 to 5 years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience. The successful applicant must work independently, possess knowledge of local government operations and state, local, and federal agencies that provide financial, social, and/or medical support services to the elderly and their families, and have excellent written and oral communication, computer, and discretionary skills.
Empathy, listening, organizing, and assessment abilities are also required.
This is a 35‑hour-per-week position with a salary range of $73,171 – $96,008 DOQ.
