Hardware Engineer, Electronics Technician
Prime Personnel Resources is assisting a company that has an opening for a Failure Analysis Engineer. This is a full time opportunity. Monday - Friday 7am-4pm. The Failure Analysis Engineer provides daily technical support, testing, and analysis of computer hardware components, including DIMMs, video cards, and solid-state drives (SSDs). This role is responsible for conducting hands-on testing, analyzing failures, documenting findings, and delivering accurate data and reports to customers on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate brings a strong electrical engineering or computer hardware background and communicates professionally with internal teams and external customers.
General Responsibilities:
Perform daily testing and failure analysis on computer hardware components, including:
- DIMMs (memory modules)
- Video/graphics cards
- Solid-state drives (SSDs)
- Diagnose hardware failures using test equipment, system builds, and diagnostic tools.
- Document test results, root cause findings, and corrective actions in a clear and timely manner.
- Prepare and deliver daily reports and data summaries to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Support ongoing engineering investigations and validation testing.
- Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, results, and trends.
- Follow established testing protocols while recommending improvements when applicable.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and documentation standards.
- Communicate professionally with customers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering , Computer Engineering , or a related technical field
or equivalent hands-on experience in computer hardware testing/building.
- Strong understanding of computer hardware architecture and components.
- Experience building, configuring, and troubleshooting computer systems.
- Familiarity with hardware testing methodologies and failure analysis concepts.
- Ability to analyze data and clearly communicate technical findings.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred (but not required) Skills or Experience
- Prior experience supporting or testing enterprise-level hardware.
- Experience with memory, storage, and graphics hardware diagnostics.
- Familiarity with OEM hardware environments.
- Experience working in a lab or manufacturing/quality environment.
