As an Economic Services Supervisor, you’ll be the driving force behind a unit that determines eligibility for Adult Medicaid programs such as:
- Special Assistance
- Community Alternatives Program (CAP)
- Long‑Term Care
- Guiding the Team:
Planning, organizing, and directing daily operations to support high-quality service. - Coaching & Growth:
Training, mentoring, and setting clear work standards so staff can succeed. - Accountability:
Reviewing work, providing feedback, and leading performance evaluations. - Problem‑Solving:
Analyzing workflow and caseloads to improve efficiency and outcomes. - Collaboration:
Partnering with internal and external agencies to connect clients with vital resources.
- Strong knowledge of income maintenance programs and eligibility processes.
- Familiarity with DSS manuals, forms, and regulations.
- An understanding of the challenges facing disadvantaged populations.
- Awareness of available community resources and related programs.
- Sharp problem‑solving, reasoning, and organizational skills.
- The ability to lead with empathy, clarity, and accountability.
- Confidence in both written and verbal communication.
Three years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an Economic Services program, preferably with one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Specific knowledge preferred in the area of Adult Medicaid.
