We are seeking a Class 1 Knitter for THIRD shift to join us in our Mill in Graham.Knitters are responsible for repairing holes in the fabric on a single-needle bar machine, accurately filling out production cards and tickets with correct information regarding the rolls of fabric. The employee must monitor the machines, making sure low warps do not run out into the machine.
REQUIREMENTS:- Able to fix defects on all bars concerning Single Needle Bar knitting machines.
- Able to correctly cut collars/ringers off beams.
- Able to handle yarn delicately.
- Willingness and ability to work third shift. Punctuality and good attendance are required.
- Able to pass pre-employment substance screening and background check.
- Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours a day.
- Fix defects on all bars concerning Single Needle Bar knitting machines.
- Cut collars/ringers off beams.
- Account for your knitting hook/tools and monitor fabric for foreign objects after each repair to fabric.
- Accurately fill out production cards and tickets with the correct information.
- Monitor machines for low warps and off-size beams.
- Recognize quality problems to minimize machine downtime.
- Prepare finished roll for doffing.
- Start up knitting machine after doffing.
- Patrol knitting machine.
- Assist in maintaining housekeeping throughout the knitting room.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, stand and reach with their arms/fingers to work with yarn. The employee must be steady enough on their feet to climb a ladder. The employee must have excellent vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment exceeds OSHA’s’ Action Level, therefore, earplugs are required. The temperature is thermostat regulated.
