We have three clinics in the KC area, two in Grain Valley, MO and one in Liberty, MO.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Scope:

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant fosters functional development of feeding, sensation, gross and fine motor and personal independence skills to inspire feelings of belonging and inclusion for autistic children and families with children who have autism.

Requirements
  • Have certification as Occupational Therapist Assistant
  • Licensed in the state of Missouri
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CPR certification
  • Preferred 1-2 years of experience working with the pediatric population

  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and spend time on your feet as well as an ability to lift items up to 25 lbs on occasion
Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group occupational therapy sessions
    Manage clinical caseload
  • Assist occupational therapist with evaluations of clients referred to occupational therapy
  • Assist with re-evaluations of patients on a regular basis, as recommended
  • Assist with individual and/or group therapy sessions according to individual needs
  • Participate in staff meetings and conferences indicated to review progress
  • Provide assistance to staff regarding concerns pertaining to occupational therapy and assist staff in maintaining open communication with parents concerning occupational therapy problems
  • Assist with in-service training for staff, parents and others as necessary and requested
  • Perform duties at multiple locations, as needed
  • Operate all therapy equipment according to manufacturers and center guidelines
  • Prepare reports of evaluation and reevaluations, and other reports relative to occupational therapy
  • Maintain daily notes and accurate records of services provided for statistical and billing purposes
  • Plan and conduct special education programs related to occupational therapy for staff and the community upon request
  • Portray a positive attitude and maintain a customer and coworker satisfaction level that limits adverse situations or complaints
    Promote Center philosophies, generating team spirit and creating and maintaining an environment that fosters staff satisfaction, maximizes productivity and profitability
  • Attend meetings and training as requested
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of Children With Opportunity and assist in providing a safe environment for all patients and staff
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of Children With Opportunity
    Assist in providing a safe environment for all patients and staff
    Assist with problem solving to improve efficiency within the Center
    Maintain appropriate social distancing, safety, and enhanced protective hygiene practices both on and off the job.(We provide PPE, caregiver communication tools and practices, and limit exposure through small work groups.)

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $47, Salary

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
