PRN Resident Assistant

Shift Details

Position:
Resident Assistant (PRN). Shift may change throughout employment with notice.

Responsibilities
  • Safely assist residents with ADL’s. Common ADLs include safe transferring, assistance with personal hygiene, memory care stimulation, and social interaction.
  • Report any changes in residents’ physical condition and/or behaviors.
  • Complete documentation in resident records regarding vitals, leisure activities, incidents, and observations throughout, and no later than, the end of shift.
  • Follow the schedule of the resident’s needs set out by the supervisor.
  • Provide emotional and social support to residents.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the community.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintain regular and predictable daily attendance.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • One year of related work experience preferred, CNA preferred.
  • Ability to safely assist residents with ADL’s.
  • Skilled in caring for residents with memory impairments and secondary diagnoses.
  • Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating patience and compassion.
  • Ability to work in a calm and professional manner and present a clean and professional image to reassure residents and families.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and appropriately with families, residents, third‑party providers, community leaders and co‑workers.
  • Ability to safely handle food in accordance with facility policies and procedures, as well as all state and federal regulations.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of state regulations.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
