Responsibilities

As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store.

  • Contribute to safe and effective operations of the pharmacy, following all company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation.
  • Deliver exceptional patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, including providing immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone.
  • Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by leadership.
  • Embrace a growth mindset, seek feedback, and expand clinical and technical knowledge.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including traveling between stores.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations and CVS policies.
  • Support additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, voluntary staffing of offsite clinics) when allowed.
Immunization Responsibilities (if applicable)
  • Complete licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
  • Educate patients about vaccines and refer to on‑duty pharmacists for questions.
  • Monitor and respond to adverse reactions, reporting them per public health requirements.
  • Document and track vaccine supplies and patient information.
Required Qualifications
  • Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education and licensure/certification.
  • State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
Essential Functions
  • Regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Completion of required training within designated timeframe.
  • Attention to detail, ability to concentrate, pivot quickly, confirm prescription information.
  • Customer service orientation and team collaboration.
  • Clear verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues.
  • Mathematical reasoning for dispensing calculations.
  • Problem resolution skills for challenging interactions.
  • Physical demands: mobile, lifting, reaching, typing, visual acuity, occasional lift up to 20 lb.
  • Additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical or customer service setting.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market.

Pay Range

$16.00 – $25.00 per hour. The actual base salary depends on experience, education, geography and other factors.
