CoreResponsibilities
As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store.
- Contribute to safe and effective operations of the pharmacy, following all company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation.
- Deliver exceptional patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, including providing immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone.
- Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by leadership.
- Embrace a growth mindset, seek feedback, and expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including traveling between stores.
- Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations and CVS policies.
- Support additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, voluntary staffing of offsite clinics) when allowed.
- Complete licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer to on‑duty pharmacists for questions.
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions, reporting them per public health requirements.
- Document and track vaccine supplies and patient information.
- Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education and licensure/certification.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Completion of required training within designated timeframe.
- Attention to detail, ability to concentrate, pivot quickly, confirm prescription information.
- Customer service orientation and team collaboration.
- Clear verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues.
- Mathematical reasoning for dispensing calculations.
- Problem resolution skills for challenging interactions.
- Physical demands: mobile, lifting, reaching, typing, visual acuity, occasional lift up to 20 lb.
- Additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
- 1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market.

Time TypePart‑time
Pay Range$16.00 – $25.00 per hour. The actual base salary depends on experience, education, geography and other factors.
