Sign on bonus: $7,500

• Coordinate surgical instruments and supplies for surgery; serve as contact for Operating Room personnel.
• Resource in the department; coordinate trial, purchase and building of new and/or revised instrument sets; responsible for consignment/loaner tray build.
• Perform CPD Technician duties: wash, (re) assemble and (re) wrap instruments, equipment and supplies for sterilization; operate sterilizing equipment; dispense supplies; maintain inventories; process patient charges/credits; basic computer data input.
• Prioritize workflow effectively, respond to routine and emergency user requests; maintain a clean, orderly, and safe facility.
• Double‑check complete case carts and that appropriate loaner trays are on correct case carts.
• Ensure the first scheduled case of the day goes on‑time from CPD responsibility end; hold responsible for any case not starting on time.
• Demonstrate effective communication with CPD staff, OR suites, and OR/CPD management.
• Provide coverage to all service lines in times of need as assigned by supervisor.
• Act as point of contact for assigned service lines; be the CPD to OR liaison for all CPD‑related issues; maintain service line on‑hand carts in OR cores.
• Participate in projects that improve work efficiency.
• Assist surgeons, RNs, and surgical technicians to provide correct instrumentation and equipment for quality patient care.
• Wash, reassemble and rewrap used instruments, instrument sets, supplies and equipment for sterilization; reprocess outdated or contaminated items.
• Operate steam sterilizers and other processing equipment.
• Mark packages to be sterilized with expiration dates; ensure all processed and stored supplies conform to required sanitary/sterile conditions.
• Notify supervisor of equipment and supply problems; maintain records and logs.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, using rolling carts, delivering by elevator and stairs; maintain written records and attention to detail for extended periods.
• Work with sterilizers, tunnel washers, and cart washers; may be exposed to needles, sharps, and high‑risk diseases due to soiled equipment.

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM required; in lieu of CRCST, a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from CBSPD acceptable.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; certificate from an accredited sterile processing program preferred.
• Two years relevant experience preferred.
• In‑depth knowledge of surgical instrumentation; identify many types of instrumentation and assemble instrument sets with speed and accuracy.
• English proficiency sufficient to read, write and follow oral and written instructions; write legibly and spell accurately.
• Discretion in dealing with confidential information; communication skills, initiative, tact, diplomacy and dependability to perform all duties in a fast‑paced, stressful environment.
• Physically and mentally capable of performing all duties of the position.
• Clean in appearance.
