• Use independent professional judgment and nursing process to provide delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services.
• Demonstrate clinical competence, compassion, customer service orientation, and cost‑consciousness when assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary plan of care in accordance with Nursing Problem Care Sets, core outcomes, core interventions, clinical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Respect patients' rights, dignity, values, culture, preferences, and needs; assess family needs for information and education; implement patient teaching and evaluate effectiveness.
• Collaborate with patients, families, hospital staff, and community agencies to develop discharge plans that prepare patients for continued care needs.
• Assess risk factors (fall, skin breakdown, VTE, aspiration); initiate appropriate bundles and plans.
• Complete medication reconciliation upon admission and during level‑of‑care changes.
• Document nursing interventions (NIC) and progress toward outcomes (NOC) and education activities in the shift assessment flare sheet and plan of care (POC).
• Implement medical and therapeutic regimens; administer medications, IVs, and blood products per policy.
• Perform procedures such as dressing changes, catheterization, NG tube insertion, and suctioning; use equipment according to manufacturer instructions and established nursing procedures.
• Monitor patient physiologic parameters, including vital signs, labs, I/O, blood glucose, and pain; recognize and report meaningful changes and intervene appropriately.
• Respond to life‑threatening emergencies with CPR, emergency equipment checks, and appropriate interventions.
• Provide and document patient education on treatment plans, safety measures, medication, and self‑care.
• Assist in evaluation of new products, procedures, and nursing practices; support quality monitoring and improvement activities.
• Participate in teaching/mentoring of student nurses and orientations.
• Maintain confidentiality, communicate respectfully, and resolve customer concerns promptly.
• Use universal precautions and promote a physically safe environment, including proper restraint documentation.
• Support organizational and unit strategic goals; actively participate in councils and staff meetings.
• Provide leadership and direction to staff, communicate expectations, and assist with patient care activities as needed.
• Maintain a healthy work environment by treating co‑workers with respect and resolving conflicts promptly.

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire.
• Certified BLS Provider or Certified Instructor within 90 days of hire.
• Graduate of an approved professional RN nursing program.
• No additional preferences.
