Overview

Administrative Coordinator — Day & Ross, Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Full-time.

Day & Ross has an ongoing need to add talented individuals to our LTL/Terminal Operations team. Our Administrative Coordinator’s contribute significantly to our department continued success. Responsibilities
  • Check in/check out processes to ensure a smooth flow and an on-time, exception-free delivery, enhancing the customer experience.
  • Ensure specific freight bill details are captured to plan for inbound/outbound freight movement.
  • Enter dangerous goods information to ensure accurate placard requirements.
  • Update the trip board to signal when a load is complete, all paperwork is ready, and the trailer is ready to move.
  • Provide manifest details to P&D drivers via handheld devices for load sequence visibility.
  • Ensure brokers/drivers/cartage have all P&D paperwork and information when returning to the terminal; ensure freight statuses are updated accurately and promptly and scan paperwork to imaging database as required.
  • Create new freight bills for spot and switch trailers.
  • Confirm with brokers/drivers if any freight is refused or undelivered.
  • Review driver trip details and ensure all assigned and executed work are captured for accurate driver payments.
  • Perform any additional workload as specified by manager.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of high school education; post-secondary education (general stream) or a combination of education and experience is an asset.
  • Previous transportation or operational experience is preferred; various roles within transportation would be beneficial. Business management experience is a plus.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate current situations, respond quickly to changing requirements, execute and escalate accordingly.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet customer expectations.
