Dakota Commercial is a local property management company located in downtown Grand Forks, ND.We develop, broker and manage residential, commercial and multi-family property in North Dakota and Minnesota.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Property Management Accountant to join our team. This position is typically 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
, and includes a competitive benefits package, including employer-paid health insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off (PTO).

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of accounting functions, strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to analyze and solve problems. The position requires the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while working both independently and as part of a dynamic team.

The Property Management Accountant will report directly to the CFO and work closely with the property management team

Compensation

Competitive wages will be offered based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts payable functions
  • Manage accounts receivable and tenant ledgers
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Complete month-end closings and financial reporting to property owners
  • Prepare and complete annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations
  • Work closely with property management staff to ensure accurate and timely financial information
  • Assist with other accounting and financial responsibilities as needed
  • Qualifications
  • Accounting degree or equivalent accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Experience with YARDI Voyager is preferred but not required
