Job Summary

The UAV Assembler is responsible for hands‑on mechanical and electrical assembly of unmanned aircraft systems within the Government Systems production line. This role supports the Team Lead – UAV Assembly by executing detailed build tasks, following engineering documentation, and ensuring high‑quality workmanship.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform hands‑on electrical and mechanical assembly of UAV components, sub‑assemblies, and full aircraft builds.
  • Install wiring harnesses, avionics, sensors, servos, payloads, and mechanical hardware.
  • Execute crimping, soldering, routing, bonding, composite trimming, and general assembly tasks.
  • Read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and 3D models.
  • Conduct in‑process quality checks and report deviations to the Team Lead immediately.
  • Complete build travelers, production logs, and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment with proper tool control.
  • Support root‑cause analysis, rework, and troubleshooting activities as directed.
  • Assist with functional checks and basic system verification during aircraft build‑up.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance build efficiency and reduce rework.
  • Support occasional fielding, repair, or test events as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
  • Hands‑on experience in mechanical or electrical assembly (UAV, aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing preferred).
  • Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Must be able to travel for training or support activities as needed (typically within the United States).
  • Due to federal contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Skill Requirements
  • Strong mechanical and electrical assembly skills (crimping, soldering, wiring, installation).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, fast‑paced team.
  • Effective communication and situational awareness in a production environment.
  • Strong organizational habits with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures, quality standards, and tool‑control practices.
  • Basic computer skills for accessing digital instructions and completing logs.
Physical Requirements
  • Must have the ability to lift and/or carry 45 lbs.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a computer workstation/keyboard.
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently.
  • The position will require walking, standing, squatting, crouching, stooping, lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, sitting, repetitive motion and kneeling.
