As a Poly Works Metrologist
, you will be responsible for conducting high‑accuracy dimensional inspections, analyzing 3D scan data, and ensuring measurement integrity using Poly Works software. Working with laser scanners, structured light, CMMs, and other precision measurement tools
, you will play a key role in verifying components, optimizing measurement workflows, and supporting engineering and quality teams.
- Use Poly Works Inspector and Modeler to analyze 3D scan data, create inspection reports, and ensure measurement accuracy
. - Perform dimensional analysis, GD&T evaluations, and first‑article inspections (FAI) to support manufacturing and R&D.
- Work with 3D scanning technologies (laser scanners, structured light, CMMs, or optical systems) to capture high‑precision measurement data.
- Develop and refine measurement techniques to improve repeatability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to validate component integrity and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Assist in reverse engineering projects
, using scan data to reconstruct digital models. - Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Document and communicate findings in clear, detailed reports for stakeholders.
- Extensive experience with Poly Works software (Inspector, Modeler) for metrology and 3D scanning applications
. - Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and precision measurement principles
. - Hands‑on experience with 3D scanning systems, CMMs, or optical measurement tools
. - Ability to interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and metrology reports
. - High attention to detail with a problem‑solving mindset
.
- Experience in aerospace, medical devices, automotive, or advanced manufacturing
. - Knowledge of ISO, ASME, or ASTM metrology standards
. - Familiarity with reverse engineering, digital twin creation, or automated inspection processes
. - Strong communication skills for technical reporting and collaboration
