• Bachelor’s in Accounting or equivalent required.
• Certified Public Accountant preferred.
• 7-10+ years: experience in accounting required.

GHSP, headquartered in West Michigan, is a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems to the automotive, transportation, and appliance industry. Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing Controlling, GHSP is currently looking for a Plant Operations Controller
to join our Finance team in Grand Haven.

The Plant Operations Controller is responsible to develop and support a culture where decisions are made to support GHSP's long term financial health and strategic objectives through analysis of financial and operations results and controls. The role prepares timely and accurate financial information and communicating to local Operations Teams and V.P. of Operations, as well as the Corporate Controller and CFO.

The position is responsible for inventory costing, reporting and analysis for their location in accordance with GAAP, and Plant and GHSP requirements. The Plant Operations Controller provides timely and accurate financial inputs for their Plant in support of the financial forecast and annual budgeting process. These financial inputs are to be prepared in coordination and with both the local and global Operations Team.

Act as a business advocate for the Plant and Operations Team:Analyze financial and operational results and controls in terms of costs, budgets and trends, including identification of key variances, and review reporting with the local Operations Team, Operations leadership and Finance leaderships. Responsible for identifying areas for improvement, including but not limited to scrap, operational efficiencies, labor, and general Plant overhead expenses - in partnership with the local Operations Team - and providing detailed scenario analysis for efficient business decision making.

Drive profit improvement and operational efficiency opportunities, more efficient asset utilization and provides Business Leaders with relevant information for effective planning and audit of the organization - enhancing the operational and financial results of the Plant. Act as the business champion for key Plant and operational initiatives. Provides financial insight to engineering and process changes, appropriation requests and other financial decisions, to ensure Plant profitability metrics remain intact.

Responsible for internal controls in assigned areas of responsibility, including assessing current controls and implementing improved controls where necessary.

Responsible for overall plant accounting and financial reporting:Support the month and year end closing process by timely completion of required procedures and reports, ensuring compliance with GHSP deadlines. Lead both internal and external financial related audits at their Plant. Develop presentations for the Plant's financial review meetings, including review of KPls to influence efficient operational decisions. Responsible for the preparation/review of Appropriation Requests for the Plant.

Responsible for the general ledger activities for the Plant, including the balance sheets, income statements and support for account balances. Manage the accounting for fixed assets, including regular review, physical verification and reporting both internally and externally.
