Key Responsibilities- Perform precise dimensional inspections of manufactured parts using CMM, optical comparators, and other metrology equipment.
- Calibrate and maintain a variety of measurement tools and gauges according to established schedules and standards.
- Analyze measurement data, identify trends, and provide feedback for process improvement and quality control.
- Develop, document, and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for metrology processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with metrology equipment, ensuring accuracy and uptime.
- Generate detailed inspection and calibration reports, maintaining accurate records and traceability.
- Assist in the selection, validation, and implementation of new metrology equipment and techniques.
- Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality Control, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with precision measurement tools (e.g., CMM, optical comparator, calipers, micrometers).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Demonstrated ability to operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using industry-standard software.
- Strong understanding of calibration principles, measurement uncertainty, and quality control standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification
- Experience with programming automated metrology equipment (e.g., CMM scripting, vision system programming)
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) software and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA) for model-based metrology applications
- Experience developing and delivering metrology training or standard operating procedures
