Job Overview

The purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining and/or meeting at the hotel. Banquet Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

General

Responsibilities
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted.
  • Prepare rooms for use; adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed before guests arrive.
  • Be in communication with the Hotel’s Director of Sales regarding any special needs, and assist in ensuring that the events are on time.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the banquet space.
  • Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guests to the Director of Sales.
  • Ensure that the meeting room is re-set for the next event contract if it is within one day of the previous event.
  • Keep inventory of all banquet equipment in order and stored in their appropriate areas.
  • Build relationships and provide all groups with a lasting experience of the hotel with intent for return business.
  • Maintain proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, bussing tables, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.
Additional Duties
  • Assisting with serving drinks at the Hotel’s Lobby Bar.
  • Delivering alcoholic and non‑alcoholic drinks for service to your customers’ table.
  • Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
  • Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
  • Understand and communicate products and services available at the hotel.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous serving experience preferred. Excellent oral communication skills required. Positive interpersonal skills required. Ability to work a variable work schedule including early mornings, evenings, holidays & weekends.
