Blue Ribbon Inside Technical Sales Position Summary

We’re looking for an Inside Technical Sales Representative to join our team! Under the general direction of the Inside Sales Manager, this position provides essential support to customers and field representatives by offering technical assistance, preparing accurate sales quotations, entering customer orders, and managing inquiries from start to finish. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, technically minded, and customer‑focused, with a passion for delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate customer needs and assist with product selection using technical knowledge and catalog resources.
  • Prepare and issue sales quotations while managing customer inquiries for new and existing orders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key contacts.
  • Resolve customer issues efficiently and provide effective solutions.
  • Accurately enter and manage customer orders within the ERP system.
  • Monitor and expedite existing orders as needed.
  • Provide technical support and respond to field‑related questions.
Qualifications
  • Prior customer service and/or inside sales experience preferred.
  • Background in a technical or manufacturing environment is a plus.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong technical aptitude with a basic understanding of gauges.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications to ensure accurate product selection.
  • Ability to cross‑reference competitor parts based on specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP software systems.
  • Customer service‑oriented with a professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Primarily a well‑lit, climate‑controlled office setting.
  • Regular use of a computer and general office equipment (fax, copier, printer).
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods (7–8 hours per day).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Effective problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
