Responsible for facility operations and management, including marketing and originating grain, building positive relations with local producers, merchandising local truck markets, and overseeing facility operations and accounting functions. The key objective of this position is to safely and profitably manage a facility, execute origination strategies, and coordinate logistics in support of the company strategy.
Position Responsibilities
Implement and execute marketing and origination plans within the area, aligning with Gavilon’s overall origination strategy, including origination history, forecasting, and goal setting.Develop and evaluate skills within the origination process to meet needs and provide appropriate solutions.Demonstrate a strong understanding of grain origination products and services.Assist producers in diversifying price risk through Gavilon products and services.Oversee the overall origination performance of assigned locations.Participate in internal grain and economic market meetings.Identify, evaluate, leverage, and grow the origination and local truck market business through market share, customer base, and volume.Partner with product line and gateway leads to ensure proper execution of North American Grain trading strategy.Optimize internal and external contacts to anticipate business needs and develop new opportunities, including forming alliances in local truck markets.Provide training, development, and retention strategies for employees, including training on marketing and origination products and services.Collaborate with local and regional operations teams to meet operational standards.Work with safety teams to ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations.Motivate the team to improve quality, safety, and cost performance.Manage logistics of commodity contracts, communicate with customers and suppliers for purchasing, analyze local markets, and manage accounts receivable daily.Qualifications
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Finance, Ag Business, Ag Economics, or Economics preferred.Experience with P&L management.3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.Be aggressive, self-motivated, and capable of working under pressure.Excellent communication, computer, and public relations skills.Strong quantitative and analytical skills.Problem-solving and conceptual thinking abilities.Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.Capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.About the company
