Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Labor & Delivery Nurse ncis Medical Center, part of Common Spirit Health, you’ll guide patients through labor and childbirth, focusing on safety, with kindness and compassion.
- Triage walk‑ins to determine if a patient is in labor, if the water is broken, false alarm, etc.
- Support pregnant patients in labor including induction, epidural assistance (if needed), general pain management and fetal monitoring.
- Educate patients on interventions or procedures, medications (name and purpose), exams, and labor stages.
- Assess newborns and provide care.
- Communicate with the care management team, including anesthesiologist, physician or midwife, patient and family.
Up to $10,000 sign‑on bonus, up to $10,000 education assistance (must have graduated within 5 years).
Nurse ResidencyAvailable for all new graduates –
Job Requirements- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 5 months of hire.
The Family Birth Center ncis Medical Center is a 15‑bed Labor, Delivery, Recover, and Postpartum Unit (single‑room maternity care). We are a Level II Perinatal Center and care for patients from antepartum, labor, delivery and postpartum, including mother‑baby care. CHI Health St. Francis was established in Grand Island, Neb., in 1887. It is a regional referral center with more than 100 physicians and more than 1,100 employees working together to build a healthier community.

$36.00 – $52.20 per hour
