Experienced Governmental Accountant

I am seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join my firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting (preferably local government accounting) and a passion for serving the public sector. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients' financial operations and contributing to the overall success of the firm.

• Managing full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for governmental clients
• Process payroll for local government entities
• Oversee grants management, ensuring compliance with rules for federal/state/local funding
• Providing accounting support to county departments of human services
• Prepare and compile financial statements and footnotes in accordance with GASB
• Working closely with clients on budget monitoring and preparation, fund accounting and reconciliation, developing and monitoring internal controls and assisting with audit preparation

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience with local governments in an accounting or audit capacity
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all work.

• The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $95,000 annually depending on experience*
