As a LONG Controls Technician Lead with extensive experience, you will oversee troubleshooting and programming of temperature control systems, ensuring project requirements are met. Your expertise in the commercial HVAC sector will guide on-site team members, coordinate operations, and serve as a liaison between operations and project managers for smooth project execution.
Pay Range$47 - $54 per hour plus potential profit sharing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, and technicians regarding scheduling, technical issues, and project concerns.
- Provide technical expertise and pre-planning for challenging projects, communicating requirements to field supervisors.
- Guide supervisors and project managers on system deficiencies and customer issues.
- Analyze and recommend solutions for warranty issues and complex situations, maintaining a customer-focused approach.
- Enhance knowledge of technologies and programming across manufacturers, collaborating with R&D and standards teams.
- Develop and maintain procedures for work acceptance, including checkout documentation.
- Verify checkout documentation is completed and submitted timely for project records.
- Update drawings and maintain equipment records, including redlined drafts.
- Collaborate with all business units, including customers and technical staff.
- Assist in training and mentoring less experienced technicians.
- Promote LONG service agreements during start-up and training.
- Instruct customers on operation, maintenance, and energy conservation routines.
- Ensure fair compensation for all work, including outside contractual obligations.
- Follow safety regulations per LONG and OSHA standards.
- Drive safely, obey traffic laws, and adhere to LONG's safe driver policies.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 2-year technical degree or 4-6 years of experience in temperature control systems.
- Certifications in KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell, or equivalent.
- Legal ability to drive.
- Expertise in programming and troubleshooting these systems.
- Strong analytical, interpretative, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, electrical systems, and building automation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and lead teams.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to job sites and customer locations.
- Knowledge of LONG’s operations and infrastructure.
- Completion of the ASP Program.
- Valuable experience even if qualifications differ slightly.
- Standing for long periods, working in tight spaces.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Climbing ladders and working at heights.
- Indoor and outdoor work environments.
- High places, construction hazards, weather-related driving conditions.
