Grand Valley Behavior (GVBSC) is expanding and looking for individuals who have a passion for working with children, a love of learning, a strong work ethic, strong communication skills, and who are seeking a job with potential for growth.

Job Overview

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis. RBTs assist in delivering behavior analysis services and practice under the direction and close supervision of an RBT Supervisor and/or an RBT Requirements Coordinator.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching, natural environment training arrangements, SBT, and other interventions.
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Accurately record data for prescribed learning protocols and/or treatment plans.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Demonstrate or work toward proficiency in all concepts within the RBT task list.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress.
  • Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and dignity.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift and carry clients with or without adaptive equipment.
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be physically present at the assigned job location.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites.
