Job DescriptionAs a Patient Access Registrations Specialist I, you will provide excellent customer service and facilitate the registration and scheduling process for patients and visitors at Intermountain Health. You will collect accurate information, verify insurance and eligibility, process co‑pays, manage balances, and follow up on pending issues while adhering to company policies and federal/state regulations regarding patient privacy.
Essential Functions- Greet and assist patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Obtain and verify patient demographic, financial, and insurance information.
- Register and schedule patients for appointments, tests, and procedures.
- Collect and process co‑pays, deductibles, and balances due at the time of service.
- Provide patients with information on financial assistance, payment plans, and charity care.
- Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms, policies, and disclosures.
- Provide patients with directions, maps, and parking information.
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and quality care.
- Document and update patient records in the electronic health system.
- Follow up on pending issues, such as prior authorizations, referrals, and pre‑certifications.

- High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Proficiency with computer skills including Microsoft Office, internet, and email (required).
- Experience with Epic (preferred).
- Customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting (required).
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, and equipment.
- Frequent interactions requiring communication and quick understanding of spoken information.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment and use computer, phone, and cable setups.
- Capacity to lift, move, pull, and push equipment, sometimes working on hands and knees or bending for setups.
- For driving roles: ability to sit, see, and read traffic signs and signs.
