Machine Control Field Service Technician

Location:

Grand Junction, CO

Position details include field service installation and troubleshooting of the full line of Technology Products and supporting infrastructure (base/rover/laser & RTK network for Ag) offered by Wagner Equipment Co., serving internal and external customers with training and support on the full line of technology products.

• Completes detailed service reports in a timely manner (within 24 hours from last labor)
• Completes and submits time cards daily
• Completes and submits warranty paperwork for serviced products (within 24 hours from last labor)
• Provides assistance in warehouse with testing and upgrading technology components
• Completes all required paperwork, labels and returns warrantable parts; coordinates shipping to WECo stores, repair centers, or factory locations
• Maintains electronic and hard copy libraries of technical service literature
• Responds promptly to customer technical and support calls
• Communicates with customers regarding installations and locations of machines
• Provides on-site or call-in service support for customer-purchased extended support agreements
• Tracks and reports product problems to WECo and factory contacts
• Assists service managers with customer, dealer, and manufacturer policy settlements
• Communicates possible sales and upgrade leads to Technology Products sales staff
• Provides competitive activity feedback to Technology Sales Specialists
• Activates Caterpillar Software Enable Attachments (SEA) on Accu Grade machines as needed
• Registers new Accu Grade displays with Caterpillar prior to installation
• Performs installs of AG Technology Products on new and retrofitted AGCO equipment and competitive machines
• Performs installations of Trimble and CAT Accu Grade machine control and guidance products on earthmoving equipment
• Performs basic welding functions
• Locates, downloads, and uploads applicable software across the tech products range and maintains files on laptop
• Provides support for Technology System demos; develops good working relationships with customer personnel and provides training as needed
• Learns and uses supplier websites, price books, and manuals
• Installs Asset management products (e.g., Product Link, Trimble Cross Check, Trimble Trim Trac)
• Supports self-development through outside schooling and professional activities
• Assists in office and warehouse roles as needed
• Supports marketing and customer service for AG and Machine Control & Guidance Technology Products
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Pay Rate: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour; dependent on education and experience.

• 75% – 100% travel required

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years technical or mechanical experience (machine service/maintenance)
• 3+ years customer service experience

• Must pass pre-employment screenings including background checks, drug/alcohol testing, fit-for-duty testing, and other job-related tests
