JOB PURPOSE
As a Pre-Litigation Paralegal, you'll manage personal injury cases post-intake through settlement. This includes communicating with clients and supporting attorneys by gathering information, managing case files, conducting legal research, drafting demand letters, coordinating settlements, and ensuring timely compliance with all legal requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESMore specifically, you’ll:
- Manage pre-litigation cases from post-intake through resolution, including organizing files, tracking deadlines, and working with attorneys and team.
- Draft and revise legal documents, such as demands, proposals, settlements, and correspondence in line with attorney directives and case plans.
- Communicate with clients, attorneys, adjusters, and providers to gather information, provide case updates, and resolve issues.
- Collect, review, and summarize medical records, bills, and supporting documentation to assist in case evaluation and settlement preparation.
- Coordinate scheduling of client meetings, medical appointments, and negotiations, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate documentation.
- Conduct legal and factual research to support case strategy and ensure compliance with jurisdictional requirements.
- Utilize case management software to maintain organized files, track case progress, and document all activities for accurate and complete case records.
- 2+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or
- Equivalent combination of professional experience, education, or certification.
- Comprehensive understanding of case intake, data collection, and settlement preparation.
- Skilled in drafting demands, proposals, settlements, and other professional correspondences.
- Strong research abilities, including reviewing medical records, insurance policies, and applicable statutes.
- Exceptional organization with ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and documents in a paperless environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, providers, adjusters, and attorneys.
- High attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and team members.
- Proficiency using case management systems, litigation support tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Personal injury experience preferred.
