Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery PRN

Base Pay Range

$36.00/hr - $56.00/hr

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process with technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence‑based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members.

• Assess:
  Perform appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills. Seek and evaluate information from the interdisciplinary team.
• Plan:
  Use assessment information and critical thinking to collaboratively develop individualized care plans. Actively involve patients, families, teams, and physicians, and prepare patients for further support needs.
• Implement:
  Direct the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration. Provide or delegate care consistent with the plan of care and professional licensure provisions. Set priorities, coordinate, and organize patient care delivery.
• Evaluate:
  Evaluate patient response to interventions, review achievement of goals, and revise care plans as indicated.
• Professionalism:
  Promote the nursing profession, participate in developing others, integrate legal and ethical standards, comply with regulatory standards, practice within scope of licensure, provide accurate and timely documentation, and understand legal implications of care delivery.
