Are you an Accounting professional looking for a high-impact role where you'll own the finance function for a growing business and help drive profitability in a project-based industrial environment?
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of accounting, billing, and job-costing for a project-driven business—working closely with leadership and delivery teams to improve controls, reporting, and profitability visibility as the company scales.
The company is an industrial automation contractor supporting clients with PLC/controls, SCADA, telemetry/wireless, system integration, and commissioning - ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in industrial automation.
In this role, you'll run day-to-day accounting and project finance fundamentals - ensuring projects are set up correctly, costs/revenue are captured accurately, and invoices go out clean and on time.
The Role:- Own the company's accounting operations, billing, project cost accounting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure projects are properly established and maintained for accurate revenue, cost, and margin tracking.
- Lead customer billing/project invoicing and support accounts receivable processes to keep cash flow predictable.
- Partner cross-functionally (PM, engineering, procurement, production, field service) to improve cost capture and job costing discipline.
- Deliver clear financial visibility into gross margin and project profitability for leadership decision-making.
- Improve financial processes, controls, reporting cadence, and systems as the company grows.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years progressive accounting / financial management experience.
- Strong experience in project accounting / job costing
- Comfortable owning customer billing, project invoicing, and A/R coordination.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition basics, cost tracking, gross margin, and project profitability.
- Systems experience with Quick Books / Quote Plan / Avaza, Net Suite, or similar accounting/ERP tools.
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
