Mission descriptionSummary of Job Purpose
The ideal candidate will conduct training for SAFRAN HE customers and employees on the installation, operation, troubleshooting, safety, maintenance and repair of SAFRAN HE engines.
Responsibilities include:
- Implementing the corporate approved training program, including outline, software presentation, handouts and tests; and designing shop exercises in accordance with corporate guidelines.
- Presenting helicopter engine gas turbine theory and operating systems (oil, air, fuel, control & monitoring, measurement & indicating, electrical, installation and troubleshooting).
- Conducting training on‑site and at customer off‑site locations as assigned.
- Observing students during procedures, providing best‑practice advice and ensuring assimilation of field maintenance procedures.
- Building and maintaining training aids; administering written and practical exams per EASA, CASA and Transport Canada regulations.
- Participating in corporate instructor seminars and training sessions to update the training program.
- Staying up‑to‑date with engine modifications, publication revisions and field reporting.
- Undergoing corporate, EASA, CASA & Transport Canada audits at scheduled intervals; travel up to 35% including international.
Follow the prescribed syllabus to fulfill training session objectives and report malfunctions or student issues promptly. Disclosing confidential information may damage the company’s reputation; errors could create safety risks and liabilities.
Required Competencies- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent; or 5 years of related experience in a technical, scientific or aeronautical field.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- FAA Powerplant Certificate.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and EASA Part 147.
- Levels 1 and 2 maintenance certification for SAFRAN HE engines (preferred).
- Minimum 6 months of teaching experience (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Knowledge of helicopter and gas turbine theory of operation.
