Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Controls and Automation Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Grand Prairie, TX. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting factory-based electrical control systems and automation equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLCs, HMI design, and industrial automation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot electrical control systems and machinery.
  • Program and support PLC-based hardware / software (e.g., Allen-Bradley).
  • Test and maintain electronic equipment used in manufacturing and power transmission.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues on conveyor systems, motors, drives, and pumps.
  • Use CAD and engineering software for design and documentation.
  • Evaluate and improve existing systems for reliability and performance.
  • Develop and modify operator interfaces and automation platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and NFPA-70E safety standards.
  • Supervise and guide maintenance technicians as needed.
  • Analyze production requirements and implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Perform technical calculations for electrical and robotic systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in Electrical Controls / System Engineering.
  • Proficiency in ladder logic programming (Allen-Bradley : PLC5, SLC, Control Logix 5000–5580).
  • Experience with HMI design tools (Factory Talk View, Ignition, Wonderware, LabVIEW).
  • Familiarity with Ethernet / IP and basic networking.
  • Knowledge of plant power distribution and motor control systems.
  • Understanding of robotic programming and teach points.
