Phar Merica is a non‑retail pharmacy that focuses on providing exceptional customer service and meeting the pharmacy needs for hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, long‑term acute care centers, and other specialized care centers nationwide. We are seeking a highly capable and motivated individual to join our team. This position will provide the opportunity to grow your pharmaceutical skills under the direct guidance of a state‑licensed pharmacist while providing essential care to our patients in our closed‑door pharmacy.

Shift: Monday–Friday 3:30 pm–12:00 am and every 3rd weekend.
Shift differential: $1.00 per shift. State of Texas requires a licensed Pharmacy Technician.

Licensure Requirements- Pharmacy technician license (if required by state)
- National certification preferred
- Previous pharmacy experience preferred
- Fill prescription items as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, package medications for dispensing and delivery, meeting accuracy and productivity standards.
- Label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
- Participate in periodic inventory of the pharmacy.
- Check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out‑of‑date items from inventory.
- Prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, possibly including non‑sterile compounding.
- Communicate with internal and external customers pleasantly and professionally.
- Process returned medications from facility for credit or destruction.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Perform at least one of the following:
- Work in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.
- Operate automated machines to pre‑pack drugs.
- Manage inventory functions such as monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identifying expired medications, maintaining pharmacy standard for Days on Hand.
- Input patient data and medication orders into computer system to produce labels (data entry).
- Mix/package IV medications, sanitize IV room, equipment, and hood.
- Service facility‑based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a pharmacy setting and with medical terminology. Ability to operate a computer; ability to recognize and identify medications. Detail oriented, goal oriented, team player, effective oral communication. Pharmacy Technician license (as required by state). - Desired:
Long‑term care pharmacy experience & national Pharmacy Technician license.
USD $19.00 – $21.00 per hour. Position will be posted for a minimum of 7 business days.
