RN Med Surg Diabetic Endo Part‑Time
Medical City Dallas, a leading provider within HCA Healthcare, is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Med Surg Diabetic Endocrinology unit. This is a part‑time day shift position (7:00 am – 7:00 pm) with one weekend per month requirement.
Job SummaryAs a Registered Nurse, you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in line with department standards and state regulations. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team, provide personalized and compassionate care, advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, and embody the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
Responsibilities- Assess the patient’s condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient’s medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate patient needs, and resolve them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring complete understanding.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Associate’s Degree acceptable; BSN required within 24 months of hire.
- Current RN license in Texas or a compact license.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required and issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
- 1 year of acute care hospital experience.
