Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Long-term Intern (multi-semester) to join our Quality Engineering team based in Grand Prairie, TX.
You will be part of a team that performs studies of production and repair station operations and analyzes data to determine areas needing improvement. You'll provide support to improve quality processes, operational efficiency and workflow.

Your ChallengesProject/Daily Support: 40%
- Assist Quality team by supporting problem solving, transformation, lean manufacturing, process/continuous improvement, innovation and six sigma projects.
Process/Continuous Improvement: 40%
- Learn the root cause analysis and continuous improvement processes at Airbus Helicopters and assist/participate in improvement efforts.
Visual Management & Metrics: 10%
- Update visual management schemes, metrics, and support analysis and tools to assist in operating manufacturing.
5S, Housekeeping & FOD Support: 10%
- Document 5S scores, housekeeping audits and FOD levels. Assist in compliance with NAS 412.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be currently located in DFW metro area as this is a multi-semester/onsite internship
- High School diploma and currently enrolled in Bachelor's or Associate's Degree program for aerospace, engineering or manufacturing
- Some office work environment preferred. Must be well organized and have good time management skills. Ability to use computers and associated software.
- Requires ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
- Requires use of computer and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite. AutoCAD and VBA proficiency are preferred.
- Able to work in the US without a current or future need for visa sponsorship
- Onsite: 100%
- Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Required daily.
- Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Required daily.
- Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Required daily.
- Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment. Required daily.
- Carrying: able to carry documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs. daily
