Installation Technician, General Labor
Job Summary
Travel is required 50 percent of the time. Under close supervision, this position is responsible for the direct execution, assembly and installation of products while providing a safe, efficient, and courteous delivery to our customers. This position provides expertise in product installation, layout, and/or manage multi-step assembly. Assist in helping load and unload items and maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle and installation site.
Incumbent must be able to work any shift to satisfy the demand for flexibility of scheduling to ensure operational success. This includes, but is not limited to, day shifts, night shifts and/or weekend shifts. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or until the job is completed.
- Help assemble and install products for all customers and manufacturers within a home location or job site.
- Properly assemble products per manufacturer's specifications, test for proper functionality and load, unload and install safely, according to local codes and standards without damage to product or customer location.
- Identify and resolve any issues in a professional and effective manner to ensure a positive outcome.
- Interact with coworkers and customers in a professional, fast‑paced environment to ensure customer needs are met while building a strong working relationship with a positive attitude.
- Understand and promote all JBHT safety requirements including required use of personal protective equipment to ensure safety of self and co‑workers; adhere to safety policies and procedures to ensure job site is safe for product installation and free from hazards and obstructions that could endanger workers or damage the delivery site.
- Assist with project execution through effective communication in order to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Execute bolt‑down process on job sites for large equipment and/or install specialized equipment/products.
Minimum Qualification: 18 years of age with up to 1 year of relevant experience. Must possess ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
- Must be compliant with state regulation certification for services offered.
Preferred
Qualification:
2‑3 years experience with High School Diploma/GED, experience in installing appliances, manual or physical labor, construction site preferred; successful completion of bolt‑down proficiency training; possession of a valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record that meets JBH standards.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move product up to 100 pounds or greater).
- Ability to wear appropriate work attire (bump cap, footwear‑steel toed shoes, gloves, safety vest).
- Customer service skills.
- Experience in material handling.
- Experience installing large, bulky equipment.
- Experience utilizing hand and power tools.
- May travel up to 50% of time.
- Understand DOT regulations related to hours of service.
- Willingness to work flexible workdays and hours.
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
