Refrigeration Installation Services Welder/ Technician - Lead

CSI is currently recruiting for an experienced Refrigeration Installer/Welder to lead a field crew in performing installer services for our refrigeration systems at customer sites.

Requirements/Skills

  • TIG and SMAW welding experience, required; GMAW welding experience, preferred.
  • 5+ years refrigeration welding, required.
  • Knowledge of ammonia industrial refrigeration systems, required; operation of basic construction equipment, preferred.
  • Experience working with a drill motor, plasma torch, orbital saw, scissor lift, and fork lift, required.
  • Experience working at customers’ facilities, preferred.
  • Experience in a lead position, required.
  • Overnight and/or weekend travel is necessary and, at times, may be as much as 100%.
  • A valid Class E driver’s license, or ability to obtain one, is required. Travel is either by air or company vehicles.
  • Strong attention to detail is necessary to complete work as required.
  • Must possess a good understanding of welding techniques and the ability to apply those techniques to create quality work for the customer.
  • Pride of ownership and accepting responsibility for work performed are key personal characteristics.
  • Ability to effectively lead and coach others is critical.
  • Duties

  • TIG and SMAW welding, grinding, polishing, and operation of forklifts, torches, saws, drills, and other equipment.
  • Accurate reading of tape, scale, blueprints, drawings, and schematics is required.
  • Assist with pipe fitting as needed.
  • As a working lead, you are also responsible for oversight of the field installation of refrigeration systems, which requires leadership and coaching skills.
  • Being committed to safety on the job and representing the company well are important elements of this position.
  • Salary $35-$42 per hour. The company provides the required tools, travel and hotel accommodations, meals and other miscellaneous expenses. We offer great benefits, including an option for free medical coverage, paid time off, and paid holidays.

    Field installation positions are very active and require constant standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds with assistance. Visual acuity is required to perform work using close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be exposed to environmental factors typical of welding and field installation.

    Working outside or in non-climate controlled environments may be required. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, such as fall protection, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes.
