The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to support the Applied AI team and specifically the Cognitive Modules portfolio. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects, from prototypes to deployment, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that provide discriminating capability to our customers.
With a strong focus on software engineering and computer science, this role is perfect for someone who is passionate about Artificial Intelligence and wants to make a real difference in the industry. What you'll be doing:
• Developing software products that implement Artificial Intelligence to provide cutting-edge solutions to our customers
• Engaging in every phase of the system development lifecycle, including requirements generation, system and software design, implementation, integration, and flight test
• Participating in a range of activities, from proof of concepts and development of prototypes to building demonstrators and transitioning to production
• Leveraging current computer science paradigms, including object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, concurrency, and I/O (block storage network database)
• Developing code to solve complex problems and field innovative solutions
• Assuming technical lead responsibilities and mentor junior engineers What's In It For You:

Who are you:
You are a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in software engineering and computer science. You have:
• A strong foundation in computer science paradigms, including object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, concurrency, and I/O (block storage network database)
• Experience with software development and deployment
• Excellent self-motivation, strong work ethic, time management, and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment and assume technical lead responsibilities
• A passion for Artificial Intelligence and a desire to contribute to the development of innovative solutions that make a real impact in the industry #LMLAIC
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline
• Experience with an interpreted language; python
• Experience with a deep learning library;
PyTorch or Torch or Keras or Tensorflow or Scikit-Learn (sklearn) or openCV
• Experience applying machine learning techniques on projects;
Supervised Learning or Unsupervised Learning or Semi-Supervised Learning or Reinforcement Learning
• Secret Clearance
Desired
Skills:
• Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline.
• Experience with Dev Ops tools (Docker/Podman, Git, or Git Lab CI/CD)
• Experience with at least one of the following messaging protocols;
Kafka or Active
MQ or ZeroMQ or DDS
• Experience with at least one of the following communication protocols; REST or gRPC
• Experience with Test-Driven Development from both unit- and system/acceptance-level perspectives
• Experience with software orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Helm, Istio/Linkerd) and modern Git Ops workflows
• Experience developing microservices and microservice architectures
• Experience building and deploying software for defense mission systems
• Experience with real-time embedded software engineering
• Experience with hardware-accelerated computing for both CPUs and GPUs (e.g. CUDA, Intel oneAPI, SYCL)
• Experience with model deployment software libraries and stacks (e.g. NVIDIA Tensor
