Software Engineer Senior Staff – SW Architect, Embedded
Dallas, TX
Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control is seeking an experienced senior staff software engineer to design and develop embedded real‑time software solutions on both existing and new development platforms. The role will support a wide range of domains including aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, healthcare, and homeland defense.
What You Will Be Doing- Lead and develop embedded software requirements, architecture, and design
- Integrate features and algorithms into C/C++ applications
- Plan, conduct, and coordinate technical software development activities
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to mission problems
- Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software to develop solutions, correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation, and analyze system capabilities
- BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Active DoD Secret clearance with investigation within the last 5 years
- Real‑time embedded software development experience (Linux/Xilinx tool suite)
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Software design/architecture experience for algorithms development and design
- Experience working with HW/SW and testing in hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HWIL)
- Knowledge of Cameo, software design, and architecture
- Full software development life‑cycle experience
- Agile development methodology (Atlassian Tool Suite)
- Experience with early technology/demonstration contracts
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops , Git Lab CI/CD tools
- Technical document development and review presentation skills
- Mentoring software team members
