Job DescriptionYou will be the Senior Software Engineer for the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team. MFC designs, develops, and manufactures precision‑engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries. As a software engineer you will work on both existing and new development platforms, helping to solve complex challenges in domains such as aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, healthcare, and homeland defense.
You will work within a matrix engineering organization and may touch multiple programs over your career.
- Develop embedded software.
- Integrate features/algorithms into C/C++ applications.
- Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities.
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to mission problems.
- Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, taking user requirements into account when developing solutions.
- Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, and compile documentation of program development.
- Analyze system capabilities to resolve program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Perform Control Account Management and Earned Value management, and provide subcontract management oversight.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Active Secret Clearance with a most recent investigation in the last 5 years.
- Experience working with real‑time embedded systems.
- Knowledge and experience with Embedded Linux.
- Proficiency in C++.
- Experience deploying, debugging, and integrating embedded software on hardware.
- Experience in software engineering and development.
- Ability to interpret program needs, formulate solutions, and communicate effectively to leadership.
- Experience working with multi‑disciplined teams.
- Experience designing ground‑system embedded software.
- Experience with Git Lab CI/CD.
- Software integration and verification experience.
